The American Flag.

The current flag of the United States was adopted on July 4, 1960 after Hawaii and Alaska became the last states incorporated in to the union. The original thirteen star version was adopted on June 14, 1777. The flag contains thirteen red and white bands and a blue canton with fifty stars on it. The thirteen strips represent the thirteen original colonies and the fifty stars represent each state in the U.S.A.
