The Sierra Leone Flag contains three horizontal bands colored green on top, white in the middle and blue on the bottom.  The green band on the flag represents the mountains, agriculture and natural resources.  The white symbolizes the unity of the people and justice.  The blue is for the hope that the natural harbor in Freetown will make a contribution to peace in the world.  The Sierra Leon flag was adopted on April 27, 1961.
