The current flag of Seychelles five oblique
bands representing the country`s movement into the
future. The
blue color on the flag represents the sea and the sky
that surrounds the country. The yellow band
symbolizes the sun that provides light and life as for
the red band stands for the people with their
determination to work for the future in unity and
love. The
white band symbolizes social justice and harmony in the
country.
Finally the green band represents the land and the
natural environment. The original flag of
Seychelles was adopted on June 18, 1996 when President
James Mancham was overthrown by France-Albert Rene and
the first red white and green flag was flown. The current flag was
adopted on June 18, 1996.
