The national flag of
Nepal was adopted on December 16, 1962. The flag is the only national flag that is not rectangular. The flag
contains two pennants combined into one that represent the two previous rulers. The red is the color of the
rhododendron (The national Flower) and is the symbol for victory in war. The blue on the border symbolizes peace.
The emblems of the celestial bodies represent the hope that Nepal will last as long as the Sun and the Moon. The
two triangles also represent the Himalaya Mountains and the the two main religions of the country which are
Buddhism and Hinduism.
