The Moldovan flag was adopted on April 27, 1990.  The flag contains three vertical bands colored blue, yellow and red.  In the center of the flag is coat of arms of Moldova.   The coat of arms is a depiction of an eagle holding a cross in its beak, a scepter in one claw and a olive branch in the other claw.  On the chest of the flag is a shield with a aurochs head with the sun in between its horns.  On the shield there is also a yellow crescent and a five pedal flower.
