Flag of MALTA
A high qality picture image of
the Malta Flag

The Maltese flag was adopted on September 21,
1964. The flag
is a bi-color flag with red on the fly and white on the
hoist. On the
upper corner of the hoist is a symbol of the George Cross
outlined in red. The red and white colors
derived from the Knights of Malta during the
Crusades. Their
coat of arms was a white cross on a red
field. The
George Cross in the corner symbolizes the actual medal
awarded to the Maltese people by King George VI of Great
Britain. The
medal was given to the people of Malta for their bravery
and gallantry during World War II.
