The flag of Goias was adopted on July 30, 1919.  The flag contains eight green and yellow strips with a blue canton containig five stars.  The green strips stand for spring and the yellow represents gold.  The blue color on the flag represents the sky. The stars are meant to depict the Southern Cross.
