The flag of Gambia was adopted on February 18, 1965.  The flag contains three horizontal bands with each color separated by a white line.  The color on the top is red, which represents the sun but also the savannah.  The middle band is colored blue which represents the Gambia River.  At the bottom is the color green, symbolizing the land and forest.
