Flag of FIJI
A high qality image of
the Fiji Flag

The flag of Fiji was adopted on October 10,
1970. The flag is a sky blue with the Union Jack on the
canton and the Fiji coat of arms on the fly. The
blue on the flag symbolizes the Pacific Ocean, which is
important to Fiji because of the fishing industry and
tourist trade. The Union Jack stands
for Fiji’s history and ties to the United
Kingdom. The coat of arms which was granted to the
island in 1908 is a white shield with a red cross and a
red chief on the top. At the top of
the coats of arms there is a the
shield with a British lion holding a cocoa pod in
its paws. Inside the shield in the upper left is a
picture of sugar cane and on the upper right is a coconut
palm. On the lower left part of the shield is a
dove and on the lower right there is a bunch of
bananas. The images on the shield stand
for Fiji`s history and agricultural
activities.
