The Flag of Asturias is blue and features the “Cruz de la Victoria” (Victory Cross) in gold.  The Cross was carried by Don Pelayo in a decisive battle agains the Moors in 722.  The battle was fought in the mountains of Asturias which marked the beginning of the re-conquest of Spain from the Moors.
