Flag

The flag of Arkansas was adopted on February 26,
1913. The flag
contains a red field with a white diamond in the center with
a blue border.
On the blue border there are twenty five
stars.
Inside the white diamond is the inscription “Arkansas”
with three stars below it and on above it. The three stars
represent the three countries that Arkansas has belong to
Spain, France and the United States. In 1923 the fourth star
was added to represent Arkansas also being part of the
Confederate States of America. The white diamond was
made to represent Arkansas as being the only state with
Diamond mines until new discoveries were made in Colorado
and Montana.
