The flag of Amazonas was adopted on January 14,
1982. The flag contains three bands colored white
and red. On the top of the hoist is a blue
rectangle with 25 stars. The twenty five stars
represent the municipalities that existed on August 4,
1897. The largest star represents the capital
Manaus. The red on the flag stands
for the struggle to overcome and the white
symbolizes hope.
